Tonight, Crab Cakes.

I was the recipient of some Alaskan King Crab Legs this weekend, leftover from our Sunday Easter Dinner.  I cleaned the legs last night, and the total weight was just over 1/2 lb. of juicy, delicious King Crab.

I mixed the crab meat with some bread crumbs, shallots, parsley, Old Bay seasoning, mayo, and one egg.   The amounted to four 4″ diamater crab cakes that are sitting in my refrigerator right now, calling out to me:  “Nick, come home and dredge me in flour and fry me until I’m golden brown….”  Who am I to argue with the crab cakes?

  1. I sure wouldn’t want to argue with crab cakes . . . too crabby. (horrible, I know). I for one am extremely glad that food calls out to you. I don’t care what they are saying, as long as I get to eat them. You can also ignore them if they tell you that I poked them a couple of times today, because I didn’t!!

    Mmmmmmmmmm, talking crab cakes . . .

  2. I took the picture at the top of your blog, man! That’s cool! I wish the sun was shining on you though. And you had a serving tray with a fully cooked turkey on it. Partially because it would fit your blog even more, and partially because that would mean I would have had a big pile of turkey on that trip. And I like turkey.

That is my second favorite picture from that trip, Jake. I wonder if the Forest Service would have a problem with me carting chafing dishes into the wilderness. “Welcome to the BWCA buffet! The line for food starts at the campfire.

Good to see you here on my little corner of the internet, Jake.

  3. I like the anonymity provided by the darkness of that picture, Jake. It makes me seem mysterious and dangerously attractive to the 4 people that read this blog.

  4. I know I’m somehow dangerously attracted to your dark mysteriousness.

    Chris.

  5. Me too.
